Product Details

In fact, the reason graphite needs to be edged is that graphite itself is conductive. Although coating it with a film achieves insulation, when the graphite sheets are cut to the customer’s required dimensions and specifications, the edges that have been cut (die-cut) may shed fine graphite powder particles. If these particles end up inside electronic devices where they’re used for thermal conduction, they could cause short circuits in the electronic components once they’re in place. By edging the thermally conductive graphite sheets, they’ll adhere more closely to the heat source and also prevent the shedding of fine graphite powder particles.
