Product Details

Powder metallurgy materials refer to porous, semi-dense, or fully dense materials—including finished products—produced by powder metallurgy processes. These materials possess unique chemical compositions and physical and mechanical properties that cannot be achieved through conventional casting and melting techniques. For example, the porosity of these materials can be precisely controlled; their microstructure is uniform and free from macroscopic segregation (meaning that, after alloy solidification, no chemical composition inhomogeneities caused by macroscopic flow of the liquid alloy across different regions of the cross-section occur); and they can be formed in a single step.
