Product Details

Graphite is a black to grayish-black mineral with low hardness (Mohs hardness of 2), found in locations around the world. Crystalline graphite occurs in hexagonal plate-like and flaky forms, while its aggregates appear as scaly masses. Due to its unique properties—such as lubricity, electrical conductivity, high-temperature resistance, chemical inertness, and low thermal expansion—it is widely used in refractory products. Its main applications include: refractory bricks and high-melting-point plastics; crucible brakes, nozzles, and other components; continuous casting powders for brickmaking; core-making materials and mold coatings for casting; and protective slag (used in steelmaking).
