Product Details

Suitable for: Copper rod drawing dies with diameters of Ф8, Ф12.5, Ф14.4, Ф17, Ф20, Ф25, Ф32, Ф38, Ф42, Ф50, and Ф100, as well as crystallizer protective sleeves for various specially shaped products.

Product performance and features:

This product is primarily made of graphite, does not contaminate the molten copper, and does not require preheating before use (but should be dried if damp). Once installed, it resists oxidation, does not crack or shatter, and can be reused repeatedly. This product overcomes both the drawback of ordinary graphite protective sleeves—easy oxidation—and the shortcomings of silicon carbide protective sleeves—such as the need for preheating and their tendency to crack or shatter.

How to use:

When installing the protective sleeve on the crystallizer, first put on the thermal insulation sleeve, then fit the protective sleeve over it. When fitting the protective sleeve, make sure it feels snug but not overly tight—do not use a hammer to tap it into place. Next, install the graphite mold. Do not fully tighten the threads of the graphite mold; leave 2–3 threads loose. Then, wrap two turns of asbestos rope around the 2–3 loose threads left on the graphite mold. After that, fully tighten the threads of the graphite mold to ensure a tight seal between the graphite mold and the bottom of the protective sleeve, making it ready for use. The next time you replace the graphite mold, simply remove the old mold and reinstall it following the same procedure as the initial installation—this method is both convenient and helps prevent damage to the protective sleeve.
